All of us go through the crests and troughs on the wave of life, it is only natural. The one’s who bounce back from the troughs and ride the waves successfully are the ones who continue to feed Joy whatever their circumstances. In my practice too, I have observed that there are some people who feed misery and then find it incredibly difficult to come out of the vicious circle of negative thought patterns which they have strengthened over time. They feed unhappiness, distress, wretchedness, anguish and suffering causing them great discomfort in the body and mind. When they realize that they have been doing it all wrong – even with this awareness, the change is not easy and requires perseverance (especially without any intervention)
Those who feed Joy find it easier to bounce back simply because they understand that the Joy they hold in their being has nothing to with external circumstances. Joy is a state of being-ness in which no one and nothing can limit ones love and sense of unity. When one operates from this state life becomes a play therefore loss or gain does not make a difference to the actor. One also begins to understand gain and loss are two sides of a coin- that if we lose we can make it again and if we can make it we may lose again. So what matters is our internal state and not the outcome of our act. Having said this-the internal state has the capacity to attract all goodness and harmony for the forces of abundance know that a joyful person will put the resources to common good.
