Dr Shivdasini S Amin

About Me

Hi I’m Shivdasini aka Shiva and my purpose and mission is

• To help people OWN their Power, and fill their lives with JOY by attuning to the Universal Laws

I truly appreciate the fact that you’re here and reading this at this very moment. I want to have an empowering, dependable, reliable relationship with you as I value your presence and your time here, and I also value you for who you are. The Universal Laws mandate that we take responsibility for everything in our lives, it includes accepting the feelings that come from taking full responsibility for things we may not like to face and what we perceive to be the fault of others. Join me on the journey of self-discovery and transformation as you also get an understanding of how the universe works.

I am Dr Shivdasini Amin, A healer at heart and a coach by calling and I am an attunement coach. I'm on a mission to touch a million lives, help OWN their power and fill their lives with JOY by attuning their lives to the Universal Laws.

I am a Master Certified Coach accredited by (ICF) and a Mind Kinetics Coach with Professional Certified Power Coach Certification from Coaching and Leadership International Incorporated. I am also the only person to have the distinction of having both the above accreditation and certification. For over a decade I have helped hundreds of my clients and students identify the root causes of their problems and release them by attuning to the Universal Laws.

I’m a heartitect (heart + architect) who’s spent the past two decades studying how by simply tuning into the Universal Laws one can experience transformational shifts in one’s being to accomplish dramatic results in all areas of one’s life be it physical, mental, emotional or spiritual.

By attuning the Body, Mind and Spirit to the Universal Laws, you can align your life to have Health, Wealth and harmonious Relationships

The bottom line: I believe that you have to take a hard look in the mirror and have the willingness to accept what you see in it and then walk through vulnerability to get to courage, therefore…the process is cathartic and transformative.

I believe we are all work in progress ...some on the fast lane some on the slow and that in time we all come to pass. My current credo “Choose the pain of discipline to the pain of regret”.

I’ve been married to Sandesh for almost 28 years, and we have two amazing kids, Smreti and Sowra,

My Story

I was born in Hyderabad and raised in different parts of India viz., Kerala, Mumbai, Goa, Vishakhapatnam my father being a Naval Officer and my mother a homemaker.

I have a younger sibling residing in Hyderabad too.

Life was good and we were provided for. My father was a spiritual man and the one who introduced me to spirituality and mythology.

Every night he would take one of the colorful Amar Chitra Katha’s and read the whole story to me and my brother who would be on each of his arms listening to him with rapt attention while looking at the animated sketches of characters in the Amar Chitra Kathas.

Every week he would get 7 new Amar Chitra Katha’s from the library for us and I guess these stories and his gentle words before putting us to bed left an indelible impression on me.

The Amar Chitra Kathas were interspersed with Tin-Tin and Asterix and Obelix narrations too. My Father in hindsight was my first spiritual Guru for he introduced me to the concept of “Simple Living and High Thinking”

I went to Kendriya Vidyalaya’s for schooling because of Dad’s transfers to different coastal posts.

Dad had to also be out as he was sailing being in the Navy and Mom then was the pillar who decided that education of her children was more important than her desires because she was completely out of her comfort zone.

She was not educated and yet wanted her children to have the best of education. For this one decision I am extremely indebted to her.

I was a below average student and writing exams was always a challenge.

As mom could not tutor me and my brother as she did not speak English and we were studying in English medium schools, she arranged for tutors and I was terrified of my tutor – I remember being in a state of fear every time in the presence of my tutor.

This caused me to lose interest in studies, my self-esteem and confidence suffered and I was generally unhappy, stubborn and shriveled up kid.

Not feeling appreciated and being bullied at school and by cousins for my looks and my skin color further deflated my spirit.

In a family of extremely good-looking people I felt like an ugly duckling.

It was in my ninth grade that I started reading books from the library at the Naval club in Goa and some books had tremendous impact on me – till today I don’t know if I got the message of those books completely but they opened a new dimension for me.

I started to read books on Philosophy, English literature, Popular fiction and novels. Dad had a whole library of books on Philosophy, Upanishads and history, on thought leaders such as Swami Vivekananda and Aurobindo and many more.

My Dad was also the catalyst in encouraging me to enquire more and to be inquisitive about things.

When sailing on warships he would write letters to me – posing questions for me to answer and enquire into. This essentially set the foundation for me to become a lifelong learner.

It was in tenth grade that I got first class, all by my own efforts with no help from anyone. We were in Goa then, perhaps the habit of reading started to fructify now.

My Dad’s next posting was to Mumbai and we stayed there for 5 years which gave us some stability and I miraculously started to do well in high school.

After high school I graduated in BA Economics from Mumbai University.

Went on to do my MBA from GITAM at Vishakhapatnam which was my Dad’s last posting.

While undergoing the above program, I was blessed to have great teachers and the seed of wanting to make education fun, engaging yet informative was sown.

Having completed my MBA, I started facilitating courses in the then Indian Institute of Advanced Management, Vishakhapatnam.

I lost my father in 1995, at the age of 51 and our world turned upside down overnight.

It was a shock for the whole family as he had no history of disease or ailments.

My mother went into depression for 7 long years

I met Sandesh in Vishakhapatnam and started dating him in 1991 and we have been together since then.

It was around then that Sandesh in one of our conversations took up the challenge of clearing the SSB which was essential to join the IMA to get a commission as an officer in the Indian Army. He cleared it in his first attempt and he decided to join the Army.

This one decision changed the trajectory of our lives, from wanting to have a career in the corporate world, I now knew, if I had to stay with him, my career would take a backstage.

We decided as a couple that living together as far as possible would be our priority.

I also chose to be a stay at home mom for my kid till she reached the age of 5.

This was because we were living in places where there was no support system to look after the kids.

When the elder one was 5 years old, her sibling came along and I chose to dedicate another 5 years to raising her.

In 2007, Sandesh got posted to New Delhi and I once again picked up the threads of my career.

Having never had a stable career because of Sandesh’s constant postings, I started to research career options that would allow me to leverage the internet and let me work from anywhere.

Thus, started my coaching journey.

Coaching and Leadership International Inc was one of the first coach training companies that came up with their offerings in India. I joined the bandwagon.

Along with the coach training programs, I also got certified as a Master Neurolinguistic Programmer.

I completed courses in Pranic healing (for their teachings, as I chose not to practice Pranic healing).

I got my PhD in 2013 at the age of 42. (For someone who hated studies this was like coming full circle).

My tryst with education, made me realize that as an educator now it was my responsibility to make my classes interactive, interesting, experiential and Fun.

However, I was not satisfied facilitating courses because I started to notice that my elder child was becoming a rebel, students at the institutes I was teaching were going into depression or suffering from anxiety and panic attacks, some had successfully attempted suicides too.

Having tasted coaching, it seemed the way ahead to help myself and help others find their path on life’s journey.

I worked in Delhi from 2007 to 2015 and then came another break for 3 years but my coaching career started to take off during this period.

We stayed in a 400-year-old fort in Allahabad from 2015 to 2017, which was one of the most memorable postings we have had.

During this sabbatical I got to explore my creative side to the hilt and got to do lots of coaching to get my hours for higher ICF accreditation’s.

Sandesh’s next posting was Hyderabad and we came back to my birthplace and have been here since. In 2018, I joined Mahindra University as an associate professor and continue to be with them while I continue to coach.

I would like to share here that at the age of 29, while we were in Bikaner -I, very casually expressed a desire to myself that I would like to go to Kailash Mansarovar before I turn 50 and then shared it with Sandesh.

This wish came true in August 2019, when I got to celebrate my 49th birthday on Kailash along with Sandesh . This is just one amongst the many miracles I have experienced in life.

I am quite blessed to have found my Guru’s and mentors along life’s path as they have guided me and nudged me, confronted me and have shown me the mirror which I was refusing to see.

Because they have been tough and kind at the same time and given me the space and conditions to grow while illuminating my life with their wisdom- I am in a blissful space in my body, mind and spirit.

Spiritual Life & Personal Development

My father I believe was my first guru in this lifetime.

I was a rebellious and haughty child. He waited for the correct time to answer my questions and did it with very frugal use of words that were like punches at times and sometimes the answers that I got made me want to hide my face for being judgemental.

My father reading the Bhagwad Gita and Bhagavatam to my mom, perhaps also left some impact on a young mind, which was read every evening while she was peeling or cutting vegetables.

My first summer camp was at Chinmaya mission and it opened my eyes to many other dimensions of life.

Because of my poor looks, dark colour, my lack of confidence in myself, and the bullying in school- I took a decision I will not do this to anyone – but I was seeking answers to overcome them myself

And I turned to books that have been my friends and guides for a long time.

Betska, the Guru Coach gave me the gift of Power Coaching with MindKinetics and this is when I got introduced to Universal Laws.

I attended “Inner Engineering” in 2016 and life has never been the same since.
